Big Sky Resort offers a spacious 3812 acres of terrain spread out over 3 mountains and interlinked by 16 chair lifts and 5 surface lifts. 150 named runs are comprised of 60% advanced and expert and 40% intermediate and beginner terrain. With an average of 5000 skiers per day, less than 2 people per acre, Big Sky prides itself in providing consistently short lift lines and uncrowded slopes. Big Sky Resort opens for the season on Thanksgiving Day and typically closes in mid-April
Moonlight Basin
Moonlight Basin offers 1900 acres of terrain on the powder laden north face of Lone Mountain and is accessed by 6 chair lifts and 2 surface lifts. 92 named runs are comprised of 40% advanced and expert and 60% intermediate and beginner terrain. With an average of 1300 skiers per day lift lines are virtually non-existent and with more than one acre per skier on average you will feel as though you have the mountain all to yourself. Moonlight Basin typically opens for the season in early December and closes in early April.
